OVERALL PURPOSE OF JOB
NIC Instruments designs and manufacturers high risk search equipment and bomb disposal equipment including products such as robots. Based in Folkestone Kent, and established over 70 years, the company ships worldwide to some of the most inhospitable war-torn places in the world.
We are now looking for a Production Engineer to lead and develop the manufacturing systems and staff and take our production systems to the next level.
This role would ideally suit a new graduate, or someone who has less than 2 years experience, looking to establish themselves in a professional role.
The right candidate will be a quick learner, a team player, and have a range of the following skills and qualifications:
You must have the right to work in the UK and not require any form of VISA sponsorship. Applicants on a spouse dependant VISA will not be entertained for this role.
Overall:
Competency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook essential
Knowledge of organising and planning in a manufacturing environment that includes complex electromechanical assemblies
A strategic thinker, who looks forward in the planning process, with a constant strive to continuously improve the production systems
A desire to constantly learn and actively partake in their own Continuing Professional Development (CPD)
Applicant must already have the right to work permanently in the UK
Experience:
Experience organising and planning in a manufacturing environment that includes complex electromechanical assemblies
Knowledge of CNC machine tools
Knowledge in using and implementing production planning software
Managing a team of 10-15 staff
Knowledge in appraising staff and carrying out staff reviews
Knowledge with ISO9001
Qualifications:
A graduate degree, in a related engineering or manufacturing subject
Further information:
Salary is dependent on relevant experience and qualifications. NIC operates a discretionary bonus scheme.
