Job Summary:
The Production Inspector is responsible for performing in-process and final inspections of components, assemblies, and finished products to ensure they meet engineering specifications, quality standards, and customer requirements. This role plays a critical part in identifying defects, preventing non-conformances, and supporting continuous improvement in a manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Conduct dimensional and visual inspections of parts and assemblies during and after production.
Interpret engineering drawings, specifications, and inspection procedures.
Use precision measuring instruments such as calliper's, micrometre's, height gauges, thread gauges, and CMMs.
Document inspection results accurately and clearly using check sheets, reports, or digital systems.
Identify and report non-conformances, assist in root cause analysis, and support corrective actions.
Verify process control measures are followed throughout production.
Assist in first article inspections (FAI) and final product verification.
Work closely with production teams to communicate quality issues and improve processes.
Maintain proper calibration and handling of inspection equipment.
Support audits, traceability, and compliance with ISO 9001 or customer-specific standards.

Qualifications:
City & Guilds or equivalent; technical or trade training is a plus.
2+ years of experience in quality inspection or manufacturing preferred.
Strong Engineering/Manufacturing background.
Proficient in reading mechanical drawings and geometric tolerancing (GD&T).
Skilled in using standard measuring tools and inspection techniques.
Basic computer skills for data entry and report writing.
Familiarity with quality systems such as ISO 9001.
