Production Line Leader
to join our Manufacturing team at our facility in Loanhead, Edinburgh.
The Production Team at Macsween of Edinburgh are responsible for the preparation of ingredients, cooking, cooling and packaging of products (haggis, vegetarian haggis and black pudding).
Reporting to the Production Supervisor you will play a key role in the food production kitchen team, producing our fantastic world class haggis and other products. The job requires accuracy and strict adherence to correct manufacturing procedures.
Main Responsibilities
Role Overview:
As Line Leader, you will be responsible for managing a small team to ensure the smooth and efficient running of production lines. This hands-on role requires strong leadership, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain high standards of food safety, quality, and performance.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead, motivate, and support your team to meet daily production targets.
Ensure all products meet quality and safety standards.
Monitor production performance and implement improvements where needed.
Maintain accurate records and ensure compliance with all hygiene, health, and safety protocols.
Act as the first point of contact for any issues arising on your line.
Work closely with supervisors and other departments to support continuous improvement.
Person Specification
The ideal candidate will have;
Qualifications in HACCP, TACCP & VACCP and Food Hygiene
Previous experience in a food production environment (cold end preferred).
Strong appreciation of health and safety.
Strong appreciation of continuous improvement
Action-orientated, keen to make a difference and get things done
Strong communicator and team player who works collaboratively and leads by example
Strong people skills
Excellent problem solver, able to quickly identify the root cause of problems and identify solutions
Good attention to detail and values process efficiency and compliance
Positive energy, enthusiasm, and authenticity
This role is predominately Monday to Friday, however there will be some weekend working paid at premium overtime rates.
