The Role:
To support our ambitious growth plans, we are now seeking a motivated and results-driven PRODUCTION MANAGER to join our team.
The ideal candidate will have a robust background in FOOD PRODUCTION.
Reporting to the Managing DIRECTOR the Production Manager is responsible for managing and optimising both labour and material resources. Ensuring effective communication, performance, and development of the team, whilst maintaining high standards of quality, food safety, and health and safety within the area. Key responsibilities include monitoring and analysing performance, handling material usage and waste, driving team performance, ensuring compliance with policies, and overseeing adherence to safety protocols and procedures.
Duties include:
Labour and Material Control
To ensure adherence to targets and plans, identifying root cause for not achieving targets and taking remedial action. Analysis and trending of downtime to identify improvement opportunities.
Report any material rejections trends and resolve/ escalate where appropriate
Measure and closely monitor material usage to ensure food safety, waste and give away is within tolerance
People Performance and Development
Ensuring effective communication to team via Huddles and Team Briefings
Responsible for driving individuals' performance on the line
Monitoring timekeeping and attendance and absence management
Identification and development of key skills within the area to ensure succession planning
Quality and Food Safety
To be responsible for product quality, technical integrity and food safety, adherence to specification and process controls.
To assist with quality investigations as required
Ensuring prestart up check are completed
Skills include:
Experience of working in a fast-moving food production environment.
Good communication and organisational skills.
Supervisory experience within a similar environment
Ability to develop and coach a team of direct reports
People Management skills - experience in managing performance, managing area training, motivating and leading teams, leading by example, effective communication (at all levels).
Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
Flexible and agile approach to daily working
Desirable:
Understanding of the fundamentals of food production and HACCP control. HACCP level 2 or 3
Experience:
Food Production: 2 years (preferred)
Management: 2 years (required)
