The Role
We are seeking an experienced
Production & Manufacturing Controller
to act as the
central operational "hub"
of our Production and Manufacturing function.
This is a
senior, hands-on leadership role
with full cradle-to-grave ownership of the production lifecycle -- from concept design handover through sheet metal manufacture, finishing, preparation, assembly, QA/QC and logistics.
You will sit shoulder-to-shoulder with the Head of Commercial Operations as a trusted operational counterpart, ensuring customer commitments, commercial targets and quality standards are met every time.
Key Responsibilities
Production Planning & Master Schedule Control
Full ownership of the Production & Manufacturing Master Schedule
Balance capacity, resources, materials and commercial priorities
Daily liaison with Directors, Head of Commercial Operations, customers and senior team
Drive production planning using
Monday.com, Excel
, and transition to
Factory.App
(industry-specific software)
Design to Manufacturing Conversion
Manage smooth handover from concept and design into manufacturing
Coordinate with Lead Design Engineer and CAD Design Teams
Ensure timely readiness and sign-off of:
Inventor 3D models
STP / DXF / PDF files
RADAN tooling files
Authorise design release prior to metal processing
Sheet Metal Manufacturing Oversight
Plan and control output across:
Internal machine shop
External laser, turret punch and press brake suppliers
Manage all finishes including:
Magnelis
SSAB Greencoat
Powder coating (3rd party)
Laser printing and specialist cladding
Ensure logistics and supplier coordination via Supply Chain
Preparation & Assembly Control
Set and manage daily/weekly/monthly targets with Shop Floor Production Leads
Drive productivity, throughput and quality --
output focused, not clock watching
Supply Chain, MRP & Purchasing
Own purchasing and MRP accuracy through
SAGE
Ensure full, correct kitting for all assembly operations
Maintain strong supplier performance and cost discipline
QA/QC, Health & Safety & Compliance
Overall ownership of H&S across Production & Manufacturing
Ensure QA/QC compliance for all internally and externally produced components
Maintain full documentation, traceability and coating adhesion testing in line with industry standards
Leadership & Continuous Improvement
Chair daily and weekly Production & Manufacturing meetings
Lead continuous improvement initiatives including:
Lean manufacturing
Flow optimisation
Waste and cost reduction
Process and component standardisation
Act as a visible, respected operational leader on the shop floor
Strategic Contribution
Play a key role in scaling Environ Group to
20m turnover within 5 years
Help position the business as the
UK's leading acoustic housing provider
About You
You will be a
senior manufacturing or production professional
with strong commercial awareness and a background in
sheet metal, fabrication, or engineered-to-order manufacturing, with a 'hands-on' approach to 'getting things done' is a must have
.
Essential:
Proven experience in production planning and manufacturing control
Strong understanding of sheet metal processes and finishes
Experience managing internal teams and external suppliers
Ability to work at both strategic and hands-on operational levels
Commercially minded, data-driven and process-focused
Desirable:
Experience in acoustic products, enclosures, HVAC plant housings or similar
Familiarity with CAD-driven manufacturing environments
Lean / continuous improvement experience
Experience supporting rapid business growth
