Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Material Handler to join our production team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in our production operations, ensuring efficient handling, storage, processing and distribution of materials. This position requires a strong understanding of production processes, safety protocols, and equipment operation.

Duties

Operate equipment including forklifts, gantry cranes and various cutting equipment. (B1 and or B2 forklift licence desirable) Load and unload shipments, ensuring proper handling of materials to prevent damage. Maintain organization within the production area by following established procedures. Ensure production operatives materials are delivered to stations in a timely and well-presented manner Help to optimise workflow and improve operational efficiency. Adhere to safety standards while operating heavy equipment and performing manual tasks, as well as keeping yard and production area tidy in a way to maximise efficiency and safety. Utilise mechanical knowledge to troubleshoot minor equipment issues as they arise. Liaise with production operatives to understand requirements and fulfil needs in line with production schedules

Requirements

Previous experience in heavy engineering production, warehouse distribution or materials handling is preferred. Experience operating heavy equipment, such as cranes or forklifts, is highly desirable. Ability to perform heavy lifting and physical tasks associated with production operations. Knowledge of safety regulations related to production environments. Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow instructions accurately. A background in Engineering or similar fields can be advantageous.
