Production NPI Manager



The Production NPI Manager will oversee the integration of new products into our manufacturing processes. This role requires the person in situ to work collaboratively with cross functional teams to ensure that new product introductions are executed efficiently, meeting quality standards, timelines and budgetary constraints.

Key Accountabilities and Activities:



Lead the introduction of new products into Production, ensuring robust manufacturing readiness and compliance with customer specifications

Develop, maintain and drive NPI project timelines and critical milestones aligned with launch schedules and APQP requirements

Collaborate cross-functionally with all departments including (but not limited to): Engineering, Quality, Supply Chain and Purchasing to ensure seamless product launches

Define and optimise manufacturing processes for new components and systems, ensuring that they are scalable, cost-effective and capable of meeting both volume requirements and quality targets.

Coordinate resourcing, equipment and layout planning with suppliers and internal teams to support new production lines

Manage process validation activities include PFMEA, control plans and capability studies

Implement and maintain best practices for launch readiness, including trial builds, SOP planning and PTM training

Ensure compliance with IATF 16949, customer - specific requirements and internal quality systems throughout NPI phases

Provide operational feedback during design reviews to ensure manufacturability and ease of assembly

Drive RCA (root cause analysis) and corrective actions during early production issues to ensure timely resolutions

Lead daily and weekly project reviews to monitor progress, risks and resource allocation

Support launch readiness audits and customer milestone reviews such as PPAP

Continuously seek process improvements to enhance product quality, reduce lead times and improve launch efficiency

Coordinate shift priorities and ensure teams are aligned in order to meet build schedules and pre-SOP readiness

Mentor and develop PTM's, fostering a culture of accountability, lean thinking and continuous improvement.

Key Competencies



Proven experience in NPI or advanced manufacturing within the automotive environment

Strong knowledge of automotive quality systems including IATF 16949, PPAP, APQP and FMEA

Demonstrable ability to deliver high quality product launches on time and within budget in a high-volume manufacturing setting

Demonstrable understanding of lean manufacturing, Six Sigma and process optimisation techniques

Demonstrable ability in coordinating cross-functional teams, both internally and with OEM customers

Proven experience in project management with the ability to track complex timelines and resolve issues proactively.

Proven experience with manufacturing technologies relevant to automotive components such as assembly.

Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a practical approach

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to influence stakeholders at all levels

Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications and CAD data
