Meridian Business Support are currently recruiting for Production Operative for their client based in Burntwood WS7.

Location: WS7 3XD - Burntwood
Working hours: 40 hours - Monday to Friday 7.15am until 4.15pm.

Role:
The right candidate will works in a team, running a range of machinery from hot melt and wet bonders, circular saws, band saws and has a lot of FLT activity. The process is bespoke manufacturing of flat and multi layered roofing schemes using an array of equipment
Operators interface with machinery predominantly by manually feeding PIR or composite materials, but there is also a need to physically intervene in the process, observing relevant procedures. Reference to documentation to ensure machine settings (Work instructions and SOP\'s), is essential and there is also a need to record data and checks on PC\'s using relevant machinery documentation. Operators also undertake basic first line maintenance activities and are expected to undertake any reasonable task requested.

Education level & general experience:

• A good level of numeracy and literacy is essential - GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English is preferred
• Previous experience of working in an environment certified to ISO9001 is required
• Experience working in a continuous process manufacturing environment/ woodworking environment

Technical knowledge/ expertise:

• Ability to follow, and/or create work instructions and SOP\'s
• Use of Continuous Improvement tools and techniques - E.G. Basic process flows, SPC, Six Sigma Green Belt or similar
• Ability to follow complex manufacturing instructions.

Previous experience working with circular saws/ band saw and other wood working equipment is desirable but full training will be given prior to free use of this equipment

Occasional overtime is available and a reasonable level of overtime working to cover absence, training and other business needs is expected.
