Job Summary:
We are currently seeking a dedicated Production Operative to join our Galvanizing plant team. This person will be required to support their colleagues with the daily tasks of the galvanizing plant, including manual handling tasks.
No previous experience required
- we will provide in-house training & certification.
The Production Operative will work on a rotating shift pattern, alternating between days and nights, to support our operations. The role involves various tasks related to the pre-galvanizing and post-treatment processes, ensuring the efficient flow of work through the plant.
Week 1: Days, Monday to Friday - 7:00 am to 15:45 pm (plus overtime when needed)
Week 2: Nights, Sunday night to Friday morning - 20:00 pm to 04:45 am (plus overtime when needed)
Responsibilities:
Bring work into the plant and prepare it for pre-galvanizing treatment, including ensuring the work is appropriately vented and hanging on jigs.
Complete necessary paperwork accurately and in a timely manner.
Operate the overhead crane to dip work into required tanks for pre-treatment.
Manage post-treatment processes, including de-jigging, paperwork completion, and packing/storing work appropriately.
Maintain housekeeping standards and perform ad-hoc duties as required.
Adhere to the company's work tagging system in accordance with the quality manual.
Participate in in-house training and attain certification for overhead crane operation.
Person Specification:
Previous experience in a manual labour role preferred.
Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and physically demanding environment.
Strong attention to detail and accuracy in completing tasks.
Good communication skills and ability to work as part of a team.
Willingness to work on a rotating shift pattern, including regular night work.
Commitment to safety and quality standards.
Forklift or overhead crane operation experience desirable but not essential (training will be provided).
