To carry out a range of production tasks within a busy remanufacturing environment, ensuring turbochargers are dismantled, cleaned, inspected, rebuilt, and tested to the highest standards. The role requires attention to detail, manual dexterity, and a strong commitment to quality and safety.
Key Responsibilities:
Dismantling used turbochargers following defined processes and safety protocols
Cleaning and preparing parts using manual and automated equipment (e.g. ultrasonic cleaners, shot blasting machines)
Inspecting components for wear, damage, or suitability for reuse
Rebuilding turbochargers using approved techniques, tools, and torque specifications
Balancing rotating assemblies using dynamic balancing machines
Carrying out final quality checks and functional tests
Accurately recording build data, measurements, and any non-conformities
Working closely with other departments (QC, stores, engineering) to maintain production flow
Keeping your work area clean, tidy, and well-organised in line with 5S/lean principles
Following all health and safety procedures and reporting any hazards or incidents
Supporting continuous improvement initiatives within the production process
Person Specification:
Essential:
Experience in a hands-on manufacturing or mechanical assembly role
Good mechanical aptitude and understanding of engineering components
High attention to detail and pride in producing quality work
Ability to follow technical instructions, drawings, and SOPs
Comfortable working with hand tools and precision instruments
Reliable, punctual, and a strong team player
Desirable:
Previous experience in turbocharger assembly or remanufacturing
Experience using balancing equipment or testing machinery
Understanding of lean manufacturing or quality control processes
NVQ or equivalent qualification in engineering or mechanics
Additional Information:
Training will be provided for specialist equipment and procedures
Overtime may be available depending on workload
PPE must be worn at all times in production areas

Our business trading hours are Monday to Friday 08:30 - 17:30.
Part-time / flexible working hours are available
Salary
Negotiable based upon experience and satisfactory completion of any probationary period. 12 month contract including a probationary period of 3 months with a possible move to permanent contract after 12 months.
