Production Operative, Electronics Product Assembly

UDlive is building a fantastic new facility in the Mill Lane area of Alton, well equipped for the next phase of company growth. We're looking for a
Production Operative
to join our assembly team. You'll be responsible for the accurate and efficient assembly of both mechanical and electronic assemblies into finished products whilst ensuring the highest standards of quality and productivity are maintained.
Responsibilities
?
Assemble mechanical components and sub-assemblies
according to work instructions. This includes fitting, fastening, sealing, and basic wiring where applicable.

Operate a variety of production equipment
safely and efficiently. This includes hand tools, powered hand tools, test equipment and potting machines.
?
Perform quality checks and inspections
at various stages of the assembly process to identify and resolve defects. This could involve visual inspections, and functional testing for both mechanical and electronic aspects.

Adhere to all health and safety regulations
and company policies, maintaining a clean and organised workstation at all times.
?
Identify and report any issues
with components, equipment, or processes to the team leader or supervisor promptly.
?
Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives
within the production environment, helping us find better ways to do things.
?
Work effectively as part of a team
to achieve production targets and meet deadlines.
Requirements
?
Proven experience in assembly within a manufacturing environment
is highly desirable, ideally with exposure to both mechanical and electronic components.
?
Excellent manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination
are essential for precise assembly work, whether it's intricate wiring or fitting tight mechanical parts.
?
Ability to read and interpret work instructions.
?
Familiarity with common mechanical
components
(e.g., screws, plastic mouldings, seals etc)
and electronic assemblies
(e.g., circuit boards, cable assemblies etc), along with their correct handling.
?
Proficient in using a range of hand tools
and basic powered hand tools
(powered screwdrivers).
?
Basic understanding of quality control principles

Strong attention to detail
and a genuine commitment to producing high-quality work.
?
Good communication skills
and the ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
?
Willingness to learn and adapt
to new processes, technologies, and product variations.
?
Physical stamina
to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks, potentially including lifting moderate weights.

40 hour working week @ 13.00 per hour
(with a
guaranteed raise to 13.50
on successful completion of probationary period).
