Role Overview:



The industry is experiencing explosive growth and Merlin is positioning itself to take advantage of this and expand. The technical abilities and resources within the company are vital to fuelling this growth and the Company is now looking for a part-time Production Operative to provide a leading role in the production of the Merlin product range to meet customer demands.

You will need to be a self-motivated, logical and planned in your thinking, diligent and a finisher. Our customers judge us on our ability to deliver promises and systems that will operate in mission critical applications. Not only will your work have to meet exacting standards, but your work will also have a direct influence on the outcome of mission critical applications for our customers.

The successful candidate will be experienced in the assembly and testing of electrical and mechanical products, in a volume-based production environment. The candidate will ideally have experience in vehicle and electrical system installations, to support the installation team when required.

Responsibilities include:



Manufacture a variety of electrical components and systems to a high standard, Develop a good understanding of all Merlin products and associated systems, Interpret Technical Design Packs, including Build Instructions, BOMs, and engineering drawings, Set up the production area, including establishing effective systems and workflows to support efficient builds, Inspect component parts in accordance with our internal Quality Standards, Load firmware and update software settings as specified, Conduct functional testing of completed products, Package finished products to specification, Complete and maintain accurate test documentation and production records, Support continuous improvement by suggesting updates or corrections to design packs and documentation, Test and repair warranty returns when required, Assist with the building, programming, and testing of prototype systems, Carry out any other reasonable duties as requested by management.

Person Specification:



Skills and Experience:



Proficient in soldering (ideally qualified to IPC 620 or equivalent), Confident using a wide range of hand tools, Ability to route and terminate cabling cleanly and professionally, Experienced in terminating complex connectors, Capable of programming PCBs with firmware and updating system configurations, Strong attention to detail, especially in areas of batch control, documentation, and quality assurance, Comfortable reading and interpreting technical drawings and BOMs, Able to work independently or as part of a team in a dynamic production environment, Relevant education required in an electrical engineering-based field, You may be required to undertake security screening; therefore, any criminal record must be disclosed, Full UK driving license preferred.
Reporting to our Workshop Manager.

Salary and Benefits:



Working Hours: 3 days per week (24 hours) - days to be agreed prior to formal job offer within our operating hours: Mon-Thurs 0830-1730. A full-time role would be considered for the right applicant.

Holiday Entitlement: 16.5 days + pro-rata bank holidays per year (5.5 days).

Job Types: Part-time, Permanent

Pay: 18,200.00 per year
