Nostrand Ltd designs, manufactures and installs bespoke plant display tables and water-efficient horticultural systems for garden centres and commercial growers across the UK. Our work combines hands-on workshop production in Newry with onsite installation work, delivering practical, well-engineered solutions used every day by our customers.

Due to a very busy start to the year, we are looking to add a reliable subcontract Production Operative / Installation Technician who can start immediately.

The Role


A practical, hands-on role involving both workshop-based production and onsite installation/assembly.

Duties include:

Manufacturing and preparing products in our Newry workshop Onsite assembly and installation at customer sites (mostly mainland UK) Using hand and power tools safely and efficiently Loading/unloading materials and assisting with logistics Working as part of a small, professional team to meet deadlines and quality standards

Location & Travel (Important)



Candidates must be local to the Newry area, as most work is workshop-based Installation work involves regular travel to mainland UK, including overnight stays when required

Working Pattern



February & March: Full-time hours available From April onwards: Likely to reduce to 2-3 days per week Subcontract / self-employed basis preferred
This role suits someone looking for immediate full-time work, with flexible ongoing hours thereafter.

Pay



16 - 20 per hour, depending on experience Overtime paid at enhanced rates Travel time, accommodation and expenses covered when working away Prompt, reliable payment

What We're Looking For



Practical, physically capable and energetic Proven reliability and a strong work ethic Comfortable working in both a workshop and on active sites Able to follow instructions and learn quickly Experience in manufacturing, installation, construction or similar hands-on roles preferred Full UK driving licence preferred

You don't need to be a specialist -- attitude, reliability and willingness to learn are essential.
