Origin Soil Nutrition are a National supplier of premium blended and straights fertilisers to the UK agricultural industry. Operating from our 12 sites under the Origin Soil Nutrition brand.



A vacancy for a Production Operative has become available at our Montrose Site, situated within the north harbour of Montrose Port Authority, River Street, Montrose DD10 8DL.



The position requires a dedicated individual with the ability to perform in all site operational production activities within the site as a valued member of a core production team. The primary function of this vacancy is to operate a 7 tonne Linde counterbalance forklift truck, loading HGV's from stock within yard and store areas, some telehandler work will also be necessary on occasions. You will report to the Site and Assistant Site Manager.



It is a requirement to hold a vocational counterbalance fork truck licence up to and including 7 tonnes and a telehandler licence, (in-house training will also be provided). It is essential to have proven experience with the ability to work effectively as an individual and/or as an integrated member of a small on-site production team to achieve the required production targets.

Key Skills


Possess a counterbalance forklift truck licence up to and including 7 tonnes and a telehandler licence, ideally with proven experience. To demonstrate understanding of such mobile plant equipment including the need for daily inspections and operator preventative maintenance techniques. Experience of loading/unloading HGV vehicles will be beneficial - this is a primary function of the role. A good clear communicator, discussing daily vehicle loading requirements with site management and office based transport administrators. Demonstrate experience of storage control and organisation, stacking/de-stacking and despatch and care of products. Ability and drive to care for mobile and fixed plant company assets including cleaning and basic preventative maintenance duties, taking a pride in caring for equipment and machinery. Carry out equipment inspections and safety checks within their working area. Possess good personal aptitude to learn and be trained on; general site operational functionality and efficiencies, gain knowledge on finished products, liaising with site management, line FLT drivers and packers on batch sizes and suitable available storage areas, site housekeeping, workplace transport safety and general site safety.




Further development is always available in other areas of operations and training in different items of mobile plant, e.g. front-end loaders, MEWP etc.
