Production Operative Plumber

Job Description

Responsible to:

Team leader / Foreman

Job Purpose:

To carry out tasks to defined levels of production and quality, achieving output targets within the time limits required, safely & efficiently.

Key responsibilities:



Main Duties

1. Interprets drawings and building specifications to map layout for pipes, drainage systems, and other plumbing materials

2. Installs pipes and fixtures, such as sinks and toilets, for water, gas, steam, air, or other liquids

3. Installs supports for pipes, equipment, and fixtures prior to installation

4. Assembles fittings and valves for installation.

5. Modifies length of pipes, fixtures, and other plumbing materials as needed for a building

6. Uses saws and pipe cutters as necessary.

7. Tests plumbing systems for leaks and other problems.

8. The right candidate for the above position will possess excellent communication skills and organisational skills.

9. Good time keeping is expected at all times, and strong numeracy skills will be advantageous.

10. Communicating with colleagues to organise jobs in a high pressure environment

11. Ensure that high levels of housekeeping are achieved and that no debris is passed onto the next workstation.

12. To exercise due care and attention when completing daily talks to ensure the safety of yourself, other members of the team and any other individuals who may be affected by your work.

13. You will need to be able to work on your own and has part of a team, and be able to motivate yourself as well as become a valid member of the team.

14. Operation of machinery will be a part of your day to day work, and responsibility of making sure you leave the machinery in a satisfactory condition after use will be your responsibility, please be aware of the danger these machines can pose.

15. Qualifications on machinery are desirable, but not essential. You will have to go through in-house training before you can operate the machines.

16. Experience of hand held tools is essential.

17. Willing to undertake training and development as required.

18. Knowledge of carpentry would be advantageous.

General

There will be times when you may be required to undertake additional tasks, duties and responsibilities within your capabilities and may be asked to undertake an alternative job on a temporary basis. However, you will not ordinarily be assigned to duties or required to perform services which you cannot reasonably perform or are outside the range of your normal skills and experience.

Shift Pattern:

Two Week Rotating Shift



Shift A

Monday to Thursday 06:00-14:00 Friday 06:00-13:00
Shift B

Monday to Thursday 08:30-16:30 Friday 06:00 - 13:00
Salary:

Starting salary dependent on experience 13.90 per hour, rising to 15.90 per hour after successful completion of training.
