Production Operative/machine Operator

Job Description

I am looking for that person who is able to work wearing many hats, we are a small team which processes aluminium and stainless-steel components in the manufacture of technical products for the construction industry. We manufacture stock items but also bespoke products to meet our clients needs. We aim to deliver a high quality product that require an attention to detail through out our processes.

About the opportunity:

Main duties:



To operate metal fabrication machinery on a daily basis as part of various processing stages press brake, drills, metal saws, grinders, polishers, and other hand tools. CNC - Knowledge of programming and operation of the CNC machine. Stock control, order picking from component form, assembly, and packing. Goods in - quality checks. To be fully compliant with the operation and care of any mechanical and electrical equipment used in your duties. To be fully compliant with the requirement of the business' quality control system and safe working standards. To be able to follow all procedures, ensuring all records are completed to company standards.

Essential skills:



Experience in working with mechanical / electrical / industrial machinery CNC programming and operation Attention to detail The ability to read and understand technical drawings. Forklift operator an advantage but not essential Good communications skills and be able to work well within a small team Punctual and good attendance

Desirable skills:



Skilled and motivated. Engineering background to include fault finding / problem diagnostics. Previous experience of Metal fabrication. Organization skills, both individual and within the team.

About the ideal candidate:



The ideal candidate will have experience in a metal fabrication/ CNC /production environment and be able to provide evidence and references.

The role includes operating individual processing tasks on various production lines and requires an organised and methodical approach. You will be required to work closely with production planning . Quality control across a variety of products is a vital part of the daily role and attention to detail is essential.

An ability to think creatively, on your feet and be part of a small close-knit team is essential. Initially you will work under the Production Planning, however you will also be relied upon to show your own initiative and demonstrate a drive to improve performance.

There is heavy lifting involved in this role.

There is potential for the right candidates to upskill including external training and support as our growing business moves forward.

Salary is negotiable dependent on skills and experience.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: From 27,000.00 per year
