: Production Operative (with Site Maintenance Duties)

About the Role

We are seeking a

reliable, hands-on Production Operative

who can also support with

basic site maintenance tasks

at our busy packaging manufacturing facility. This is a

physically active role

, ideal for someone who enjoys practical work and takes pride in maintaining a clean, safe, and efficient workplace.

You'll work on the

factory floor

operating machinery, assisting with packing and materials handling, and also carry out

routine repairs and maintenance

across the site. A valid

FLT (Forklift Truck) licence

is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities

Production Operative Duties:

Operate and monitor packaging production machinery. Feed materials into lines, pack and stack finished products. Complete quality checks and follow production instructions. Keep work areas clean, tidy, and safe at all times. Load and unload materials using an FLT (if licensed).
Site Maintenance Duties:

Perform basic site repairs (e.g. replacing light bulbs, fixing shelving, clearing drains). Support with general upkeep of facilities and external grounds. Monitor and report any health and safety concerns or maintenance needs. Assist with equipment moves, installations, or minor refurbishments.

Requirements

Previous experience in a manufacturing, warehousing, or production environment. Physically fit and capable of lifting, bending, and working on your feet all day. Proactive and dependable with a strong work ethic. Basic knowledge of tools and DIY repairs (desirable). Able to follow health & safety and hygiene protocols.

FLT licence

(Counterbalance or Reach) preferred but not essential. Willingness to learn and support across different departments as needed.
