Volmary Ltd is the UK operation of the European Volmary family of businesses. Our business is 100 years old and in total our group employees total over 1500 people, of which 180 work in our Cambridgeshire nursery.

Our Wisbech St. Mary site has 50 acres of land with 20 acres of efficient glasshouses, Polythene greenhouses, energy centres. We are focused on serving UK based growers and distributors with high quality young plants and providing high quality service levels in a friendly and professional manner.

Summary

We are seeking a Site Maintenance Assistant to join our dynamic team.

Working full time generally Monday to Thursday 7.30am-4.15pm and Friday 7.30am-3.15pm (39 hours per week)

The role is site based among a small and friendly team

This role is vital to ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities contributing to our mission of delivering high-quality plant products. The Maintenance Assistant will play a key role in maintaining equipment and supporting our production processes.

We are looking for someone to

Assist with the day to day maintenance of the site and facilities

Work closely with the maintenance engineers to undertake repairs.

Assist with implementing procedures required to ensure that all machinery, equipment and premises are well maintained.

Assist with reactive & planned preventative maintenance

Be part of rota for boiler call outs

Key Responsibilities & Tasks

Maintaining a variety of Machinery

Fault reporting.

Assist with reactive breakdowns in a timely manner to minimise downtime

Be part of the rota for boiler call outs

Do you have

An interest in mechanical engineering and quality premises maintenance

The ability to prioritise multiple projects and tasks

Are you enthusiastic, cooperative, and have a positive work ethic.

Good communication skills.

Basic maintenance experience

Basic biomass boiler experience -preferred but not essential as full training will be given
