Get The Drinks In is an innovative contract canning business serving both established and challenger brands in the drinks sector. As we continue to secure new projects and invest in the latest canning technology, we are expanding our production team. Role Overview:



As a Canning Operator, you'll play a vital role in the core production process, ensuring our canning lines operate safely, efficiently, and consistently deliver products of the highest standard. Working as part of a team, you will be engaged with advanced, high-speed canning machinery and will be entrusted with quality control and machinery maintenance duties to help drive operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:



Operate, monitor, and maintain canning lines, ensuring smooth running and minimal downtime. Carry out rigorous start-up, shutdown, and product changeover procedures adhering to standard operating procedures. Conduct routine quality checks (e.g., fill levels, seams, weights, carbonation, and product integrity), recording results for compliance and traceability. Perform equipment checks, routine maintenance, and clean-in-place tasks; report faults or incidents promptly. Manage and replenish materials and packaging supplies to maintain consistent line operations. Assist with logistics by moving raw materials, finished products, and packaging using manual handling or forklift (licence desirable). Champion food safety, hygiene, and health and safety policies at all times, adhering to HACCP, GMP, and all regulatory requirements. Accurately record production data using our system, contributing to process audits and continuous improvement. Collaborate with colleagues in QA, engineering, and warehouse teams to resolve issues and optimise processes.

Key Skills & Behaviours:



Commitment to safety and quality; strong awareness of food safety and hygiene standards. Ability to operate and troubleshoot canning or filling machinery; mechanical aptitude. High attention to detail when monitoring machine and product quality. Effective communication skills--able to follow instructions and work well in a team. Flexible and positive approach to shift work or changes in production priorities. Willingness to learn and develop new technical skills. Physically fit for manual handling and standing for long periods. Forklift truck licence (Counterbalance) preferred but not essential.

Qualifications & Experience:



Previous experience in a manufacturing or food/beverage production role desirable but not essential; full training provided. GCSEs or equivalent in Maths and English preferred. HACCP or food safety training an advantage.

Shift Patterns & Working Hours:



12-hour shifts (06:00-18:00 / 18:00-06:00), Panama or continental pattern, with rotating days and nights and plentiful time off between rotations, designed to support work-life balance.
