We are seeking a dedicated Production Operator to join our manufacturing team. This role involves working with various fabrication and assembly processes, ensuring high-quality output in a fast-paced environment. The ideal candidate will possess a strong mechanical aptitude, experience with CAD and tooling, and the ability to operate and maintain production equipment efficiently. Duties
Operate and monitor fabrication and assembly machinery, including milling, welding, and other manufacturing equipment
Use hand tools and specialised tooling to assemble components according to technical drawings and specifications
Handle materials safely and efficiently within the warehouse environment, ensuring proper storage and movement of parts
Programme and troubleshoot programmable logic controllers (PLCs) to optimise production processes
Read and interpret CAD drawings using SolidWorks or similar software to guide fabrication tasks
Conduct basic measurements and calculations to ensure parts meet quality standards using basic maths skills
Perform routine maintenance on equipment, including cleaning, lubricating, and minor repairs
Assist in the development of new manufacturing processes through collaboration with engineering teams
Maintain a clean, organised workspace adhering to safety protocols at all times
Skills
Proven experience with fabrication techniques such as welding, milling, and assembly
Proficiency in CAD software, particularly SolidWorks, for design interpretation and modifications
Knowledge of programmable logic controllers (PLCs) for automation control systems
Mechanical knowledge with the ability to operate hand tools effectively
Experience with materials handling within a warehouse or manufacturing environment
Familiarity with tooling setup and maintenance procedures
Ability to perform basic maths calculations relevant to measurements and tolerances
Previous warehouse experience is advantageous but not essential
Strong understanding of safety standards in an industrial setting
Good organisational skills with the ability to follow detailed instructions accurately
