Octric Semiconductor is a new name in the compound semiconductor foundry space. Its devices are used in mission critical defence and commercial applications.

For over 25-years, we have been delivering over 1.5 billion devices that have been shipped from our site to date.

Octric has ambitious plans to grow the company and expand with new products and applications, and the company is developing a 10-year investment plan. We now have a bright new path ahead of us following the recent significant investment from the UK Ministry of Defence. As a part of an emerging semiconductor cluster in the northeast, we are focussed on developing advanced technology, focussed on the next generation of semiconductors. We are looking to fill a number of exciting roles across device design and innovation through to manufacturing & reliability.

Located in Newton Aycliffe, UK, we occupy a 10,000 m2 purpose-built Class 100 manufacturing facility fully equipped to produce state of the art compound semiconductor product.

PURPOSE OF ROLE:



Processing of material to the required quality standards and to the applied standard operating procedures. Undertaking ancillary tasks to ensure processing equipment and materials meet desired standards of operation.

SUMMARY OF RESPONSIBILITIES:



MAIN TASKS:



Operation of automated and manual production equipment as per standard operating procedures. Preparation of materials and tooling to applied standards. Undertake periodic quality checks on equipment and processes as specified. Gathering and recording of data (both product and equipment related). Frequent interfacing with manufacturing software systems. Initiating investigations into out of control/spec data. Carry out visual inspection of product according to specification. Identify non-compliant material or abnormal events taking appropriate action as detailed in applied specifications. Contribute to improvement activities and participate within working groups; driving forward business improvements in cycle time, waste reduction and productivity. Communicate with fellow Operators within and beyond the assigned process area regarding status of tooling, work in progress and status of new or ongoing issues. Highlight any issues to Lead Operator or Supervisor that may impact the process area's ability to achieve the specified plan. Comply with Health and Safety regulations within the working environment. Apply high standards to the undertaking of regular housekeeping. Achieve production targets by undertaking tasks according to specified plan and priorities using local decision making to account for WIP and Equipment availability.

JOB REQUIREMENTS



Experience



3 years in a modern manufacturing environment.

Proven work history

Experience of a quality environment preferably to a recognised quality standard.

Special Skills & Qualities



Ability to work to quality standards and specifications.

Computer literate with ability to interact with Microsoft office applications.

Positive attitude towards organisation and job function.

Ability to communicate effectively within a team driven environment.

Flexible and Self-motivated.

Pro-active and capable of working with minimal direct supervision.

Reliable and punctual.

Education/Qualifications



A good standard of education

Must be a British Citizen and willing to be Security Check (SC) cleared
