The Kanthal Product Area specialises in heating alloys, elements, modules and systems for industrial heating and high temperature applications. Primary markets are the semiconductor, solar, glass, chemical and petrochemical industries, in which a high level of expertise and reliability are needed in the delivery of industrial heat.

We are now looking for a Works Operator (Furnaces) working on a Continental Shift Pattern, to join our diverse and talented team in Kanthal, providing world class support to the Production Department.

Your role



You will be responsible for operating and monitoring furnace equipment to ensure materials are processed according to precise specifications and safety standards. Your role involves loading and unloading materials, adjusting temperature and cycle settings, and performing routine inspections to maintain product quality. You will keep accurate records of production data, report any equipment issues promptly, and follow all safety protocols when handling high-temperature materials.

Key responsibilities for this role:

Operate furnace equipment - Start, monitor, and shut down furnaces according to production schedules and safety protocols. Load and unload materials - place raw materials or components into the furnace and remove finished or treated products. Maintain records by logging temperatures, cycle times, and production data accurately. Maintain all safety standards in line with 5s, SOP's and H&S requirements. Undertake training as required. Check and complete all work to ensure accuracy and compliance. Communicate effectively with team members and other departments to ensure smooth workflow. Support general production duties as required.

About you



Ideally you will have previous experience working with furnaces but training can be provided. Experience in a manufacturing or production environment is essential. You will have strong attention to detail, the ability to adapt quickly and good communication and teamwork skills. A minimum of basic IT skills is required.
