Job Description



We are a manufacturer and distributor of filled bedding and associated products. With over 75 years experience in our sector, we pride ourselves on innovation, quality and customer service.

Reporting to the Operations Director, the successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating production schedules to ensure efficient operations and optimal resource utilisation. This role requires a strong understanding of supply chain processes and the ability to work collaboratively with various departments to meet production goals.

Key Responsibilities



Develop and control production schedules and inventory based on customer demand, sales forecasts, and available inventory. Monitor production progress and adjust schedules as needed to meet deadlines. Optimise capacity, labour, and materials through effective planning Ensure production goals are met, including production efficiency, on-time delivery, and quality standards. Raise (when required) Production Works Orders in line with stock build and sales order requirements. Liaise with the Purchasing department and Manager (on any site) to ensure the timely procurement of materials; minimising stock shortages or excess inventory. Improve forecasting accuracy, inventory levels, and service through effective communication with internal teams Prepare daily, weekly, and monthly reports on production status and performance metrics. Communicate any production delays, challenges and issues. To ensure that best working practice is followed at all times.

Experience & Personal Attributes



Minimum of 2 years of experience in production planning, scheduling, or a related role in a manufacturing environment. Strong leadership skills with experience managing people Strong analytical and problem-solving skills. Knowledge of planning systems and supplier management Knowledge of inventory management, lean manufacturing, and process optimisation. Proficient in all aspects of an MRP integrated software package. Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, data analysis). Excellent communication and influencing skills Excellent organisational and time management skills. Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple priorities.
