The core purpose of this role is to schedule the activities required to deliver Customer orders on time.
This will fundamentally entail:
Establishing internal manufacturing lead times to acknowledge and optimise lead times to Customer
Determining raw materials requirements and securing best cost and lead time
Working with sub-contractors to secure best lead times and pricing
Progress chasing the works orders with the Team to keep to the schedule
Overseeing the compliance of the shopfloor documentation to the Company's QMS in line with the requirements of AS9100
Utilising the MRP system to conduct transactions and monitor compliance
The role will require the candidate to create and own the overall Production Planning Schedule within the Factory, through the timely coordination of all individual Work Orders. Note that the overall responsibility for production and people management rests with the Production Manager to whom this person will report. The prime focus of this role is about planning, coordinating and timely reporting.
Monitor daily/weekly performance to the Production Planning Schedule and report out as required. Work with the Production Manager to develop (a) contingencies to ensure adherence to plan and (b) remedial actions should any slippage occur.
Report out on the planned output by month and any opportunities to improve on this in order to support the Company's Business plan
Develop and nurture good working relationships with all of our Customers and Suppliers.
