Production Planning/scheduler

Job Description

We're looking for a proactive and detail-driven Production Scheduler to join our team at our Featherstone site. In this vital role, you'll help deliver exceptional service in a fast-paced environment ensuring our customers receive the quality and reliability they expect from Boardtek Ltd. The production function is at the heart of our companies success, and your expertise will play a key part in driving continuous improvement and operational excellence. You'll be responsible for creating and managing production schedules, using your planning knowledge to coordinate orders in line with customer delivery commitments and site efficiency targets. By optimising production flow, monitoring capacity, and identifying risks early, you'll help keep our manufacturing operations running smoothly and efficiently.

Key Duties

(but not limited to)

Develop and maintain detailed production schedules to meet customer demands and delivery deadlines. Collaborate with manufacturing, supply chain, and plant management teams to align production plans with inventory levels, capacity constraints, and process improvements. Monitor production progress daily, adjusting schedules proactively to address bottlenecks or unforeseen disruptions. Utilise supply chain analytics and MRP (Material Requirements Planning) tools to forecast material needs and optimise inventory levels. Drive continuous improvement initiatives by analyzing production data, identifying inefficiencies, and implementing lean manufacturing principles. Coordinate with quality control teams to ensure products meet quality standards throughout the manufacturing process. Support process improvement projects that enhance overall plant operations, reduce lead times, and improve product assembly efficiency. Coordinate with suppliers and transport companies to ensure timely deliveries

Experience



Proven experience in production management or manufacturing planning within a fast-paced Manufacturing environment. Strong proficiency with planning systems is highly desirable. Maintain daily oversight of board stocks, organising replenishment and completing month-end stock reconciliations. Work closely with the Internal Sales Team to understand customer requirements and align them with production capabilities. Ability to perform effectively under pressure and meet tight deadlines. Familiarity with quality control standards and process improvement techniques within a manufacturing setting. Excellent organisational skills with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively while managing multiple projects simultaneously. Strong computer literacy, including proficiency in Excel Solid numeracy skills, with the ability to accurately record, interpret, and analyse data. Good interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal, for engaging with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: 24,420.00-35,000.00 per year
