Based in Rackheath near Norwich, Specialist Toughened Glass Ltd is a part of a family-owned group of companies that has been established for half a century. We employ over 70 staff across our 2 factories, manufacturing high quality, bespoke products ranging from specialised glass to products for the boat building industry.

About the Job:

We are recruiting an additional full time Production QA Chargehand to supervise & contribute to shopfloor manufacturing activities. Your experience will directly influence our quality assurance processes and production efficiently.

As a Production QA Chargehand, you will be responsible for supervising an experienced team. You will be highly organised and able to ensure that manufacturing remains smooth and focused through constant engagement with your team, our custom computer system and our senior management.

Working hours:

40 per week with up to 10 hours overtime available. This position will involve working 11:30 - 20:00 Monday to Friday with some Saturday mornings when customer demands are high. You will sometimes be required to Supervise during a Saturday shift if we are working them.

Responsibilities:

Supervise an experienced team of Shopfloor technicians. Assist and deputise the entire operations on the Shopfloor effectively. Monitor and prioritise workflow to meet deadlines while maintaining high standards. Continuously evaluate and promote production quality and team productivity. Contribute to and enforce H&S and QMS requirements. Act as a communication channel between your team and senior management & promoting company culture.

Qualifications / Experience:

Working knowledge of various types of manufacturing machinery and tools. Previous leadership experience. Significant experience of working on a manufacturing Shopfloor. Excellent verbal communication skills. Organised and methodical with attention to detail. Ability to pick up new production techniques quickly. Good computer skills. Flexible, positive "can do" and adaptable approach to your role.

Salary & Benefits:

Base pay: Starting rate of 13.50 per hour for up to 40 hours. Overtime pay: 16.87ph for hours worked beyond 40 in one week.
