The Role & Key Responsibilities

Job Title: Product Specialist - Blends

Location: UK Remote role with some travel to Leeds required on average 1 - 2 times per month

Shift: Permanent / Full Time - Monday to Friday, 37.5 hours per week

This is a key role in ensuring the profitability of the Blends team.

This will be a varied, highly commercial role managing the blend category, focused on understanding market trends, new product development and pricing changes whilst building strong customer and supplier relationships to enable the business to be as successful and efficient as possible.

We are looking for a pro-active and driven approach who can manage contracts and positions effectively whilst driving sales, retention, and new business. This is a great time to join the dairy team as we continue to experience rapid growth with our market leading products.

What you will be doing / Responsibilities

  • Manage the Performance feed relationships with direct to farm customers within retail segments across the UK, with ownership of aligned accounts
  • You will work as part of the Blends team to achieve / exceed Budget, managing contracts and positions effectively, maximising profitability through blends pricing and formulating, driving sales, retention, and new business within this sector
  • Be a key driver in sharing market insight across your aligned Customers to take advantage of market opportunities, the right time to buy and drive sales.
  • Manage the product sales and purchase contracts with integrity to meet the needs of customers and suppliers, ensuring balances are cleared and closed appropriately in a timely manner.
  • Adhere to business sales processes and maintain AX and database systems in line with business objectives to facilitate the targeting and segmenting of customers and prospects to maximise contribution
  • Adhere to trading controls.
What you\'ll bring
  • Experience of demonstrating technical knowledge to livestock farmers.
  • Ability to understand ruminant diets and raw material application.
  • Previous B2C Sales experience.
  • Practical commercial experience and entrepreneurial flair with a demonstrable track record of achieving targets.
  • An understanding of the fundamental drivers of the UK agriculture industry.
  • Experience of using CRM would be advantageous.
  • Strong analytical and organisational skills with good commercial awareness and the ability to interpret market data & emerging trends.
  • Strong communication and relationship building skills, (customer facing; internally across functions)
  • A natural team player with a flexible, collaborative outlook
