Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Production Supervisor to oversee our manufacturing operations. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing production teams, ensuring quality standards are met, and optimising workflow efficiency. This role requires a strong understanding of processes and the ability to lead by example in a fast-paced environment. Monday to Friday role on Day Shift, requiring flexibility for Afternoons.
Key Accountabilities
To manage the team leader, undertaking tasks to achieve the daily plan.
Ensure safe systems of work & work instructions are being followed at all times and that the team work in a safe manner.
Ensuring the team follow correct PPE procedures at all times.
Follow clean as you go at all times & all areas are up to audit standards at all times.
Ensuring customer specifications are followed at all times, enabling quality standards to be achieved.
To manage a team, undertaking tasks to achieve the daily plan.
Have an understanding of the next day, and coming weeks and months requirements in terms of production, resources, skills and materials.
Communicate and take action as appropriate to all KPI's: Labour costs, including yield, wastage, customer service, plan completion, quality reports, absence, (and all other associated KPI's), complete site communications.
Ensure all team members are suitably trained; understand their objectives, the standards required, are reliable and punctual in their attendance and are motivated to the job.
Ensure all employees are trained and signed off on all relevant tasks. Liaise with the training department to ensure training records are up to date and training plans are in place for individuals as required.
For each and every key role ensure you have suitably trained deputy (minimum) or deputies to cover any case of absence (planned or unplanned).
Have responsibility for performance, conduct, attendance and timekeeping.
Complete return to work form's after any absence (including holiday, unauthorised absence and sick absence)
Play a leading role in the departments Tiered meetings.
Ensure all documentation and IT system information required (production, H&S and technical) is completed and forwarded to the appropriate parties in a timely and accurate fashion.
Work with the New Product Development team and the technical team to successfully carry out production trials and launch new products.
Liaise with all other departments as appropriate to find solutions to problems.
Where ever possible provide solutions to problems with adhering to the company policies, procedures or specification. Otherwise advise production manager of any issues beyond your control, however you must still have responsibility for ensuring that actions or answers are provided for your problems.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
Experience and competency in a production environment, preferably from a food manufacturing background, Good communicator and the have the ability to influence and develop team.
Computer literate including basic use of company's business software packages
Understanding of practical application of Production, technical, HR and safety processes and procedures including working practices pertaining to the site
Knowledge of continuous improvement techniques
Basic understanding of engineering principles
