Caledonian Alloys are seeking to recruit an

Production Supervisor

to support the growth of the business here in Hereford.

Role Summary

:
Under direction of the Assistant Plant Manager, the Production Supervisor will provide direction to the production staff, ensure a safe environment, monitor the quality of work, employees receive the proper training, and address maintenance issues. Position will oversee and assist with the daily plant operations including process and procedure improvement activities.

Role Responsibilities:



Provide guidance and direction to the production floor personnel. Accomplish results by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring and appraising job results; coaching, counselling, disciplining employees; and initiating, coordinating and enforcing systems, policies and procedures. Ensure adequate records relating to these activities are kept. Coordinate daily production activities and delegate assignments to production personnel. Communicate clear expectations to production personnel, keep them informed of matters pertaining to their job, and develop personnel growth opportunities. Monitor employee work performance relative to expectations and maintain material/workflow through the facility. Monitor and enforce QHSE policies and ensure all related checklists to maintained to the required level and frequency. Proactively assist in the development of 6s plans and activities. Ensure tools, equipment and machines are in good working order and available to use when required. Maintain adequate records of actions taken in relation to plant and equipment maintenance and changes. Monitor and enforce work start, break and stop times and sick leave of the production personnel. Manage the 'Timeforce' timekeeping software for the site and act as first approver for payroll. Attend and participate in regular production meetings. Assists in determining manufacturing staffing and employment levels. Performs all aspects of the position according to the PCC Code of Conduct and SOX guidelines.

Education/ Qualifications/ Experience:



Level 4 qualification in relevant subject e.g. ILM or commitment to obtain. A minimum of 5 years' experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred. A minimum IOSH Managing Safely Certificate Knowledge of Quality Auditing Procedures. WAMITAB Certificate of Competence or commitment to obtain.

Competencies:



Good working knowledge of all MS Office applications and internet applications. High level of self-motivation to perform and succeed. Ability to work under minimal supervision and use own initiative. Strong interpersonal skills at all levels of the organisation. Excellent time management skills and ability to prioritise work effectively. Ability to work under pressure and deadlines. Excellent people management skills. Knowledge of machines and tools, including their design, uses, repair and maintenance.

Physical Demands:



Predominately supervisory but will on a regular basis be required to lifting up to 16 kg, push/pull, bend, twist, stand, walk, kneel, stoop, sit, climb and have good manual dexterity. Also required to meet required eyesight standards and have the ability to identify colour.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:



The role is a combination of an office setting with frequent sitting and fine hand manipulation and within the plant subject to traffic, climate changes, uneven surfaces, heights, dust, and/or noise.
