Position Overview
Bryant Precision Ltd is seeking an experienced
Aluminium Window & Door Production Supervisor
to oversee day-to-day operations within our Peterlee production facility. The successful candidate will lead a skilled team responsible for the fabrication, assembly, and quality assurance of aluminium windows, doors, and curtain wall systems, ensuring products are delivered on time, to specification, and to the highest standards of workmanship.
This is a hands-on supervisory role requiring strong technical knowledge of aluminium fabrication, excellent leadership abilities, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
Production Management
Lead and coordinate daily production activities for aluminium windows, doors, curtain walling, and bespoke systems.
Allocate tasks, manage workflow, and ensure production targets and deadlines are achieved.
Oversee the operation of saws, CNC machinery, crimpers, punch tools, and assembly equipment.
Monitor material usage and minimise waste through effective planning.
Support the Production Manager with scheduling and capacity planning.
Quality Control
Inspect frames, hardware installation, glazing, seals, and final finishes to ensure adherence to Bryant Precision's quality standards.
Resolve non-conformance issues and implement corrective action.
Ensure compliance with UK building regulations, CE/UKCA standards, and internal quality processes.
Team Leadership
Supervise, mentor, and support fabricators, assemblers, and machine operators.
Provide training to enhance team capability and maintain high productivity levels.
Conduct performance reviews and assist with staff development plans.
Foster a safe, organised, and positive work environment.
Health & Safety
Enforce all health and safety procedures and company policies.
Conduct toolbox talks, safety briefings, and machinery training.
Ensure correct PPE usage and safe working practices across the production floor.
Assist with risk assessments and incident reporting.
Planning & Coordination
Interpret technical drawings and collaborate with the design/office team as required.
Work with procurement to maintain adequate stock levels.
Maintain accurate records of output, KPIs, and production issues.
Continuous Improvement
Identify opportunities to improve efficiency, reduce downtime, and enhance product quality.
Support lean manufacturing initiatives and standardised working practices.
Assist with equipment troubleshooting and preventative maintenance.
Qualifications & Skills:
Essential
Minimum 3 years' experience in aluminium window, door, or curtain wall fabrication.
Strong technical understanding of aluminium fabrication processes.
Proven leadership or supervisory experience in a manufacturing setting.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings.
Strong communication, organisational, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work under pressure while maintaining high standards.
Desirable
Experience with CNC machinery or automated production systems.
Familiarity with UK aluminium systems such as Schuco, Reynaers, Technal, or similar.
Experience with ERP or production planning software.
Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles.
Working Conditions
Workshop/manufacturing environment with exposure to machinery and manual handling.
Full-time, on-site role at the Peterlee facility.
Occasional overtime or extended hours may be required depending on demand.
