Production Supervisor - Night Shift

Schades Ltd is the No.1 till roll manufacturer in the UK, and we have recently expanded into label manufacture. We have an enviable customer base, and a reputation built on supplying quality products and a customer-centric approach. We now have an exciting opportunity at our site in Ripley, Derbyshire for a Production Supervisor on the Night Shift.

Location: Ripley, Derbyshire DE5 3RZ

Hours: 39.25 Hours per week, nights (21:45-06:00 Mon -Thu, 17:45 - 00:00 Fri)

Key Tasks

Production:

Ensure that machine manning is correct. Support operators with make readies and change overs. Carry out start of shift checks on each machine. Report any breakdowns to Maintenance and Factory Manager. Liaise with goods in to ensure that all raw materials are at the machine ready for production. Be the first port of contact out of office hours. Ensure that the next jobs are ready for machines. Prepare stereos for upcoming jobs. Monitor waste skips. Support the maintenance department. Support the Factory Manager when needed during their absence.

Other:

Ensure adherence to all Health & Safety measures. Organise staff efficiently across production facility. Liaise with Quality & Assurance Administrator regarding monthly safety audits. Supervise a small team, ensuring adequate skills and training levels are met. Monitor absences with their team and report absences to Factory Manager. Support the goods in / despatch during holiday periods.

Person Profile

Knowledge of good manufacturing procedures. Ability to use a computer system - Microsoft Office. Hands on approach and commitment to getting the job done. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Leadership skills and the capacity to take charge, while still addressing concerns of individuals and developing a team culture.
