McMillan specialise in traditional handcrafted Scottish Copper pot stills and Distillation columns for the Whisky and Distilled Spirits industry.

At McMillan, an integral part of Briggs Group, the Production function is responsible for turning client's bespoke engineering requirements into finished products through the design, planning, manufacture, and quality governance of these products. Thus, supporting the on-time delivery to both internal and external clients.

Job Focus

The Production Support role at McMillan reports to the Production Cell Lead.

Oversee and complete wash bay activities in accordance with production planning.

Ensure that the Wash Bay Area is maintained to the appropriate agreed 5S standards.

Ensure that Apprentice and Tier One Tradespersons are trained and supported on Wash Bay activities to ensure that wash bay tasks are completed to the required standard.

Collect photographic records before & after wash bay activities

Obtain quality sign off for completed wash bay parts with CEDTM or nominated representative.

Escalate any quality issues identified during Wash Bay activities to the Management Team.

Maintain Skip Area / Pallet Store and associated waste material movements

Responsible for management of Wash Bay chemical storage and use in accordance with COSHH regulations.

Assist with stock count activities

Main tasks & responsibilities

Wash Bay - Production Plan completion

Maintain Wash Bay Area

Completion of pre user checks for Wash Bay equipment & Cranes (Including documentation)

Goods receiving of chemicals ensure delivery note confirmation and COSHH requirements adherence

Assist with stock count activities

Industrial cleaning activities

Maintain Skip Area / Pallet store

Waste material movements and metal recycling

IBC waste management co-ordination

Winter environment safety activities e.g Gritting

Summer environment activities - Grass cutting & weed management external areas

Supporting Good Workshop Housekeeping and Industrial hygiene

Holiday Cover for Goods In (Physical acceptance of deliveries to Site)

Desired Knowledge & Professional Experience

FLT License

Awareness of Warehouse / stock control methodologies

COSHH experience

Overhead Crane
