The post is based offshore on a 3/3 rotationand fixed term position for 6 months.
JOB TITLE: PRODUCTION TECHNICIAN.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
To work in conjunction with an integrated maintenance team, responsible for planning and execution of Production based work scopes. All work to be carried out in a safe, timely and quality manner to maximise plant and equipment availability, maintain asset integrity and achieve business objectives.
Ensure all work undertaken is safe, and in compliance and accordance with statutory Health and Safety procedures, maintenance manuals, specific work instructions, safe systems of work (Control of Work/Permit to Work) and all recommended safe working practices
Actively participate in thorough pre-job risk assessments for all non-routine activities and confirm that they are accurately reflected in the resultant Permit to Work
Actively participate in any pre-job site inspections/toolbox talks for maintenance activities
Participation in IRIS and carry out safety tours, as required
Ensure all required personal protective equipment (PPE) is appropriately used
Ensure all work party members, especially third-party personnel, fully understand the purpose of, and can use, required emergency response equipment
Ensure all personnel in proximity of works are fully aware of planned works, associated risks and control/mitigation measures in place
Ensure compliance with established clean workplace practices
Ensure all accidents, incidents, near misses and non-conformances are fully reported
Under direction, undertake routine inspection, servicing and adjustment of equipment
Under direction, support performance and condition monitoring and assessment
Review maintenance work orders and ensure all requirements/preparations are fully undertaken before commencement of works
Communicate with operations personnel for start-up and shutdown of relevant equipment
Maintain safety critical equipment in accordance with regulations
Perform the role of Production Technician as required on BP platforms
Ensure equipment and systems are reinstated to required condition and performance
Support diagnostic activities and analysis to rectify faults
Report all work completed in CMMS (Backbone)
Respond to 'out of hours' call-outs, as requested
Responsible for management and completion of competency prolife (CMS)
Carry out adjustments to process facilities under the direction of the Shift Supervisor or CRO
Operate and control the external process and Utility facilities in a safe and efficient manner, thereby ensuring the continuous production of oil and gas
Identify and report to the Control Room any plant/equipment malfunction that could deteriorate into a major incident
Ensure that the plant operation meets contractual specifications
Gather and collect data for the Process and Utility equipment and identify actions to be taken to minimise equipment and machinery failure
Recover plant from any emergency shutdown and minimise loss of production, whilst adhering to operating procedures
Implement shutdown, isolation, depressurising and cleaning of equipment required for maintenance, purging and de-isolating ensuring all work permits have been cleared before bringing back on line
Assist maintenance technicians as required
Complete pre-start-up/operating checks, ensuring all interdependent systems are available and bring into line any system under the direction of the SMS. Completes post start-up/operating checks to ensure normal operating conditions.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
Recognised trade qualification
Appropriate vocational qualifications or certification in process maintenance and operation
Previous experience in the oil and gas/petrochemical industry in a similar or equivalent role
Experience and competence in the following areas:
Identifying actions required to avert the possibility of a major incident occurring due to the process or external environment
Front line maintenance such as filter changes, pressure/temperature gauges replacement etc
Knowledge of lab duties, procedures and basic oil and gas analysis
Good awareness of work planning and scheduling
Familiarity of CMMS - SAP or equivalent work management system
Good understanding of process safety rules and regulations
Performing Authority (Permit to Work system)
Previous Isolating Authority experience
First Aid training (including CPR)
Good awareness of safe Working At Height practices
Respected, contributory team member able to establish rapport with others
Good communicator, accurately relates information, uses active listening to ensure own understanding and is comfortable with written, spoken or electronic media
Actively demonstrates commitment to higher performance standards
Understands own roles and importance of working to objectives and standards
