Production Technician / Engineer



The Role:



Geovista are seeking a Production Engineer / Technician to join the production team. The successful candidate will have good hands-on technical skills, and will be able to learn Geovista's tools and equipment .

Geovista develop and manufacture geophysical borehole logging equipment and supply a catalogue of winches, probes and accessories to the industry. The company operate a low-volume, high-precision production process, including many bespoke products for a worldwide market.

Geovista is a growing company with a global presence, the candidate will need to be adaptable as duties may vary week-to-week in order to meet business demands. At Geovista we consider attitude and integrity to be equally as valuable as skills and experience.

Key Skills:



Practical skills with aptitude for delicate mechanical work with basic understanding of mechanical systems.

Basic soldering skills, able to solder wires and connectors. SMD component level soldering desirable but not essential.

Use of test and measurement instrumentation, such as multi-meters, insulation testers, oscilloscopes, signal generators, etc.

Methodical approach to fault-finding and troubleshooting.

Organisation skills, planning, and teamwork in a production environment.

Self-motivation and the confidence to make decisions.

Competent at interpreting mechanical drawings and wiring diagrams.

Familiarity with a quality standard (eg ISO9001) would be advantageous.

IT literate: Can use MS Office tools, emails etc.

Key duties:



Mechanical and Electrical assembly of Geovista tools and equipment.

Undertaking repairs of Geovista equipment from the field.

Performing functional, performance and reliability testing of products and completing acceptance sheets.

Fault finding and troubleshooting of systems.

Calibration of data acquisition tools.

Creating test procedures and quality control documentation.

Collating customer orders and packaging for shipment.

Liaise with the manufacturing facility.

Qualifications/Experience:



University Degree in Engineering / HND Engineering / Time served apprentice in a relevant discipline.

We would also consider a technical/mechanical tradesperson with 3+ years experience in a technician role, who has adaptable/transferable skills and a good attitude. For example, this could include field service engineers or automotive mechanics.

Geophysical Borehole logging knowledge and experience would be advantageous but not essential.
