Production Test Engineer

Mechan Controls is a well established machine guard safety design and manufacturing company in the Northwest of England, with a large growth in business we are looking for a Production Test Engineer to complement this.

The Role

You will be working with a small team of dedicated engineers in a fast-paced but friendly and inclusive manufacturing environment, carrying out the following:

Providing test engineering support to operators on the shopfloor, including supporting the introduction of new test equipment. Testing and diagnosing complex electrical/electronic systems, sub-assemblies and circuit cards down to component level. Generating test specifications, operator instructions and technical reports Promptly identifying remedial and corrective actions to allow Manufacturing to continue in line with the programme, following production test failures. Supporting meetings with Quality and Operations to provide status updates on Test Engineering actions and investigations.

The Person

Minimum HNC level of Engineering qualification or equivalent and ability to share certificates. Good understanding of digital and analogue electronic measurement and test principles and fault diagnosis techniques, with demonstrable experience down to component level. Awareness of electrical/electronic sub-systems and system design, integration and test principles. Excellent verbal and communication skills, including generation of test specifications, operator instructions and technical reports. Problem-solving skills to identify and resolve design challenges efficiently. Strong time management skills to handle multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Job Type: Full-time

Hours: Monday to Thursday 08.30 to 17.00 / Friday 08.30 to 16.00

Salary: starting from 27,000 (negotiable for the right candidate)
