iCAM is growing - Join us as a Stores / Goods In Operative and shape the future of precision engineering.
At iCAM, we deliver more than just components, we engineer complete, high-performance vacuum, gas and fluid handling system for some of the world's most demanding industries: Semiconductor, Pharmaceutical, Aerospace, Chemical, Oil & Gas.
We are in a major growth phase, backed by strategic investments in new technologies, facility upgrades and manufacturing capabilities. Driven by a sharp increase in customer demand and a surge in large-scale projects, we are expanding our team to meet rising expectations and deliver with excellence.
Orbital Welding is responsible for executing high-precision welds on stainless steel and other materials using orbital welding systems. This role is critical to fabricating components that require clean, repeatable, and high-quality welds--often for industries like Semi-Conductor, Chemical processing. The welder must be skilled in both orbital and manual welding processes and work within engineering tolerances, following strict safety and quality standards.
---
Key Responsibilities:
Set up and operate orbital welding equipment (e.g. tube-to-tube and tube-to-fitting welds).
Interpret technical drawings, weld procedures, and specifications for complex assemblies.
Perform high-purity welds in cleanroom or controlled environments when required.
Execute manual TIG welding for prep, touch-ups, or areas not suited for orbital systems.
Conduct visual and dimensional inspections on welds using borescopes, gauges, or x-ray support.
Document welding parameters, batch records, and inspection results according to QA protocols.
Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to ensure welding meets industry standards (e.g., ASME, AWS, EN).
Maintain welding logs, equipment calibrations, and consumables inventory.
Uphold 5S, safety practices, and regulatory compliance in all welding tasks.
Participate in continuous improvement initiatives related to welding quality and productivity.
---
Qualifications:
City & Guilds or equivalent required; welding certification preferred.
Relevant experience in orbital welding in a production or regulated manufacturing environment.
Proficiency in TIG welding and familiarity with stainless steel, Hastelloy, or other specialty alloys.
Ability to use orbital welding systems (e.g., AMI, Swagelok, Orbitalum, or similar).
Strong ability to interpret isometrics, and fabrication drawings.
Experience working with high-purity or sanitary systems is a plus.
Comfortable working in cleanroom or high-spec environments if required.
---
Key Competencies:
High precision and attention to detail.
Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving.
Knowledge of welding quality standards and inspection processes.
Strong documentation and compliance discipline.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team under production deadlines.
