About the Role

The focus of this new Chair is to lead efforts to leverage Cranfield University\'s strength in transport systems and safety & security research and teaching. The person in this role will have the opportunity to use the considerable investment in research facilities including the Digital Aviation Research and Technology Centre (DARTeC), Multi User Environment for Autonomous Vehicle Innovation (MUEAVI), Digital ATC Centre and Accident Investigation Lab.

About You

The background of this professor may either be academic research projects or industrial projects on the basis that the chosen candidate is able to demonstrate a track record of leadership relevant to air transport management at a senior level. You will hold a Doctorate in relevant subject matter, or equivalent relevant industrial experience. You will have experience successfully leading a high performing academic team or experience of working at a senior management level within a relevant sector. You will have an established track record of working with major industrial partners on high-value collaborative projects.
