Job Description

Barnardo's is looking for an exceptional Programme Delivery Manager to join our Transformation & Delivery team. In this key role, you'll lead the delivery of complex, high-impact programmes, ensuring strategic alignment, strong governance, and sustained momentum across multiple projects.


Programme Delivery Manager
Location: Hybrid with occasional travel (minimum requirement to travel to London once per month)
Contract: Full-time fixed term for 12 months


What you'll do:


Lead high-value, complex cross-directorate programmes aligned to Barnardo's strategic goals.
Manage risks, dependencies, and change processes to keep delivery on track.
Act as the key escalation point for programme-level issues.
Champion innovation and continuous improvement across teams.
Coach and mentor Delivery Managers, embedding Agile and benefits-led practices.
The role includes line management responsibilities.


What we're looking for:


Formal qualifications in programme management (MSP, APM PMQ, AgilePM).
Proven experience delivering large, multi-workstream programmes in complex environments with ambitious timescales and deliverables.
Strong leadership, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills, with a proven ability to influence and engage across all levels of the organisation.
Ability to drive performance and foster collaboration across diverse teams.
Prior experience of system implementation and systems development, ideally Dynamics D365
