Programme lead - Energy transition for multi-occupancy & complex buildings

THE ROLE

Programme lead for the MOBs and complex buildings future of Energy workstream, seeking to deliver R&D programme of evidence to inform UK government heat Policy decisions towards system transformation of all customers in multi-occupancy buildings. This position is key to SGNs overall NetZero transitional plan, a large proportion of existing gas customers live in a flats, this role is pivotal in the delivery of safe clean heating options to these customers.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Responsible for the delivery of the MOBs preparatory R&D; the safety, regulatory, property classification, data, risk, technical standards, engineering options and stakeholder engagement.
  • Management of financial budgets associated to your project delivery programme
  • Lead on the development, bidding and delivery of MOB reopener via NZASP.
  • Represent SGN at key external groups to ensure GDNs and other key external project stakeholders including Ofgem, BEIS, HSE are engaged and working collaboratively to allow for programme success
  • Promote the programme and outcomes at industry events, industry standard and government led groups
  • Close liaison with the wider SGN group to ensure interfaces between the project and SGN are managed effectively, including, but not limited to safety, asset management, and operations.
WHAT YOU\'LL BRING
  • Experienced in major R&D projects
  • Experienced in preparing bids and tenders.
  • Expert knowledge and understanding of multi-occupancy buildings and associated legislation, ideally aware of IGEM/G/5 requirements for Gas.
  • Knowledge of gas and electricity networks
  • Proven track record in strategic negotiations and delivery of complex projects
  • Knowledge of renewable sector, particularly hydrogen
  • Excellent communicator at all levels. This role requires frequent attendance at senior forums. For example, government ministers and senior civil servants.
  • Knowledge of regulatory governance frameworks
  • Preferably degree qualified in a relevant discipline (Civil engineering/architecture/construction/complex buildings would be beneficial)
  • Contract management experience
  • A full and valid driving licence is essential.
