Central Bedfordshire College - Dunstable Kingsway Campus



Salary/Benefits:

Salary is between 40,000 and 46,349 per annum DOE and Qualifications, 35 days annual leave plus Bank holidays, Teacher's pension, Retail and Leisure Discounts, excellent professional and personal development opportunities, accessing college courses.


Hours/Weeks:

37 hours per week - 52 weeks per year

About the role:





We are currently seeking a Programme Manager in Business and Computing to join our Business department at The Bedford College Group

.





As a Programme Manager, you play an important role in the success of our students through:


Curriculum Leadership

- Lead the operation and development of curriculum within a defined programme area, ensuring high-quality teaching, learning, and assessment across all programmes.

Strategic Representation

- Represent the Directorate at both local and Group levels, ensuring departmental strategies are effectively communicated and implemented.

Curriculum Development & Growth

- Deliver an exciting and relevant curriculum that enhances employability, supports strategic growth, meets KPI targets, and responds to local employer and community needs.

Quality & Student Outcomes

- Maximise student success rates and ensure progress is tracked across key metrics including attendance, retention, achievement, progression, and destinations using agreed college systems.

Statutory Duties & Compliance

- Uphold responsibilities in safeguarding, equality and diversity, health and safety, and engage in ongoing training and development in line with TBCG policies and procedures.

About you:




Qualifications & Experience

- Holds a degree in a specialist subject or equivalent industry experience, with a recognised teaching qualification and GCSEs (A-C) in English and Maths or equivalent.

Leadership & Sector Knowledge

- Demonstrates successful leadership in Further Education, with relevant sector experience, strong subject credibility, and a track record of high performance in previous roles

Teaching & Quality Assurance

- Experienced in teaching across various levels and using quality assurance systems and data to monitor, manage, and improve learning standards.

Strategic & Operational Skills

- Capable of setting and achieving team and personal goals, responding to challenges with innovative solutions, and considering wider strategic issues affecting the department and college.

Professionalism & Communication

- Communicates effectively, uses IT confidently, maintains confidentiality, and works well independently and in teams under pressure, while promoting a high-quality, inclusive learning environment.

The Bedford College Group was formed in 2017 following the merger of Bedford College and Tresham College and is now the largest provider of education in the South East Midlands, with over 15,000 students passing through our doors each year.
