Programme Manager - Inclusion in Doctoral Education

About the Role
The Equity in Doctoral Education (EDEPI) project focuses on improving access and participation for racialised groups to postgraduate research (PGR), across Nottingham Trent, Sheffield Hallam and Liverpool John Moores Universities. The programme of work targets recruitment, admissions and transition as critical points of systemic inequality in doctoral education. Now in its final stages, the project has developed a new, work-based partnership approach to PGR recruitment which was piloted with NHS partners in the cities of Nottingham, Sheffield and Liverpool, co-produced a novel competency-based PGR admissions framework through national consultation with major stakeholders, in partnership with the UK Council for Graduate Education has piloted and evaluated the use of this framework, delivered a programme of workshops to support postgraduate researchers from racialised groups and supervisors and professional service staff. Now in the evaluation and dissemination phase, the project is seeking a Programme Manager to embed the practice, develop content for dissemination of project findings, provide support for the community of doctoral candidates who were recruited via the project, to collate the project outcomes, provide data to the national evaluation led by Kings and to carry out the work required to write the final report, ensuring a clear understanding of the efficacy of programme and the resultant impact.

Job purpose: To work across the three universities that comprise the project consortium and to manage external stakeholders including the funder, NHS Trusts, Royal College of Nursing, UK Council for Graduate Education to provide programme direction in the evaluation and dissemination phase, to ensure effective embedding of new, inclusive practices, to deliver high-quality and ongoing support for the community of doctoral candidates who were recruited via the project, to provide all data to the national evaluation and to deliver a high-quality final report.
