Job Description


The Role:

The role is to teach Art and Design to our Level 1 - 3 & FAD UAL Art & Design students. You will provide our learners with the knowledge and skills to progress in a range of creative practices including traditional visual communication skills such as observational and experimental drawing, digital image making or printmaking. We are also keen to attract applicants with 3D making and or craft skills but will accept applications from other art specialist practitioners. You will have a high level of knowledge and skill in areas of creative project management and will understand and be able to guide students through their project work using creative research and development processes. The role will see you responsible for a group of fine art students, monitoring attendance, providing progress reviews, assessments and supporting their progression plans towards a career in the Creative Industries. This will include supporting their applications to Universities and producing CVs for employment.

Requirements:

  • Our tutors are dual practitioners and demonstrate expertise in teaching and learning as well as having recent experience and track record of working in the Creative Industries. You should have expertise in one or more creative technical skill. We are happy to welcome industry specialists who have some experience in teaching and working with young people and as a result are keen to continue to develop their teaching skills. If you have not taught previously please state in your application why you feel you would like to work in education.
  • Qualifications could include BA Hons (Creative subject)
  • PGCE Secondary or FE
  • Creative Industry experience
