Purpose of job



Our aim is to become a market leader in provision of Electric Vehicle charging solution provider to Local Authorities and Businesses as part of our strategy to lead the transition to zero carbon.

The goal is to undertake an ambitious electric vehicle charging installation program, deploying high volume and quality EV installations across the nation. Our aim is to make the world a better place, one charge point at a time.

The Project Accountant will work within Zest's finance team to provide key support to the finance manager, overseeing the accounting for key revenue streams and implementing new initiatives into monthly financial reporting. The Project Accountant will monitor and analyse the progress of financial performance of install projects, ensuring they align with Zests goals.

Key Accountabilities



The role is responsible for the following:



Manage project budgets, oversee cost tracking, and provide regular financial reporting. Conduct regular project performance reporting and reforecasting against financial models, including in-depth variance analysis for all active projects during the build phase and post-completion. Take ownership of key balance sheet items, including fixed assets, stock, and assets under construction. Implement process improvements for project tracking and reporting. Collaborate with project managers, procurement, and operations teams to provide financial information and support. Support the annual financial audit in specific areas. Prepare ESG (Environmental, Social, and Governance) reporting. Assist the Commercial and Sales teams with financial modelling for potential projects. Provide customer reporting on profit shares, revenue shares, and SaaS (Software as a Service). Any ad-hoc duties required.

Knowledge and Skills



A high level of numeracy Attention to detail Strong financial analysis and reporting skills Proficiency in project management and cost tracking Excellent collaboration and communication abilities Ability to implement process improvements Knowledge of ESG reporting standards IT proficiency, particularly Excel Experience with NetSuite desirable but not required

Experience:

2 Years experience within a similar finance role is required Proven experience in project budget management and financial reporting Experience with analysing complex data with accuracy Experience of month end processes Experience of working with auditors and dealing with audit queries Excellent problem solving, analytical and customer service skills Excellent planning & administration skills

Qualifications



Qualified ACA/ACCA/CIMA or passed all exams is required Bachelor's degree is desirable
