The project commercial officer will provide commercial and contractual support to the new project, ensuring effective cost control, contract administration, and smooth coordination with HQ. Responsibilities include managing on-site commercial activities, preparing and reviewing valuations, variations, and subcontract accounts, and maintaining accurate cost and value reporting. The role also involves subcontract procurement, change control, and cash flow and risk management in line with company procedures. Familiarity with the Guanglianda commercial system and experience working under JCT contract frameworks are desirable.


Key Duties / Responsibilities




Reporting into the Project Manager you will take ownership of specific commercial activities, taking responsibility for work packages or areas of work and site wide preliminary and logistic teams. You will also be required to maintain relationships and work closely with the project team, client and design teams as well as our supply chain which will culminate in the successful delivery of the project. The role may also entail bid management and estimating (future phases), as well as support to the MD for the overall strategy of the UK business.


With a flexible approach to supporting all BCEGI activities, preferably but not limited to:


Timely and accurate applications for payment and cost reporting in line with company and contract requirements. Effective cash management, forecasting, and budget control. Maintaining project commercial and risk management procedures. Ensuring proper and timely notification of contract or insurance events. Preparing, reviewing, and issuing contractual correspondence. Preparing accurate and prudent cost/value analysis and monthly CVR reporting. Preparing and monitoring project budgets and forecasts. Assessing and valuing variations in accordance with the contract. Managing subcontract procurement, interim and final account agreements. Maintaining accurate and high-quality commercial records and documentation. Operating and maintaining the Guanglianda commercial management system to record and analyse project costs, valuations, and progress, ensuring accurate coordination with head office. Supporting the preparation of project procurement strategies and value enhancement plans. Assisting in the preparation of project commercial appraisals for internal and external audit purposes. Managing assigned areas of responsibility and associated risks effectively. Delivering commercial activities in line with operational objectives and company procedures. Contributing to project planning, forecasting, and reporting activities. Supporting the implementation of Health and Safety policies and standards. * Demonstrating professionalism, accountability, and a proactive approach to achieving project and company objectives
