Product Control Data Analyst \xe2\x80\x93 circa \xc2\xa350k \xe2\x80\x93 \xc2\xa360k - Hybrid (2-3x week in London)

Overview:
An excellent opportunity has arisen with a global financial services organisation with a very impressive commodities trading and services portfolio. We seek someone to support the global expansion of the Product Control team, by understanding current business processes, designing outputs that minimise the level of manual input, and releasing these for use both within the team and by various business departments.

Role Responsibilities:

  • To support the design, development, and improvement of Product Control\'s business intelligence analysis service
  • To prepare data queries for use in auditing, analysis, reporting and data visualisation tools (including Power BI)
  • Work with the central Data Engineers to understand the changes to core data architecture and warehousing, understanding the potential impacts this would have on current outputs
  • Identify control improvements and efficiency opportunities around the existing processes

  • Assist with the development / testing / implementation of new systems
  • Support the external audit process
  • To take responsibility for your performance and to work together to achieve our organizational goals
  • To attend training courses which are identified as being necessary for the performance of the role
  • To be fully conversant with the Employee Handbook and supporting policies, including Health & Safety legislation and fire and emergency procedures
Essential Skills and Experience:
  • Strong analytical and communication skills with interest in developing commercial acumen.
  • Appreciation of the long-term nature of our business and ability to develop relationships and personal skills accordingly.
  • A strong interest in the commodities industry
  • To understand accounting and the fundamental concepts
  • Ability to display initiative and flexibility in approach to work, be self-motivated and have a confident manner and ambitious outlook.
  • Experience using:
  • SQL Server Integration Services
  • SQL Server Report Services
  • Power BI Report Development
  • Power BI Service
  • Business level fluency in English (both written and verbal)
  • Advanced communication skills
  • Strong I.T. skills including proficiency in Excel and Word
  • Excellent organisation and time management skills
  • Keen attention to detail and the ability to multi-task
  • Personable with the ability to build relationships and communicate with all levels both internally and externally.
