HS2, Britain's new high-speed railway is at peak construction. Balfour Beatty VINCI is HS2's construction partner in the Midlands, responsible for delivering 90km of the route, from Long Itchington in Warwickshire to the centre of Birmingham and on to Handsacre in Staffordshire.

Current Opportunity:

Project Controls Manager

Location:

Based in Coventry - the South Region comprises Sublots 2B, 2A and 1A Long Itchington Wood. It stretches for approximately 39.2km from Finham Brook to Southam through a mixture of rural and suburban landscapes

Role Responsibilities:

Performance Monitoring: Review and update the Fiscal Year KPI targets & forecast dates for the weekly Level 2 Control Room meetings. Collaborate with the PMO to review and update the Level 1 Production Dashboard. Reporting & Communication: Review and update DPR & IPTAN Packs. Ensure controls information and recommendations are reported and communicated effectively to influence key decision-makers and colleagues. Be accountable for integrity and technical appropriateness of data to provide insight into progress. Baseline Management: Perform monthly Cl.32 quantity audits and analyse Planned vs Actual vs Forecast quantity profiles identifying variances and draft Change Papers to realign Fiscal Year Baseline when necessary. Cost Control Support: Oversee PRISM coding integrity and provide the Finance & Commercial teams with necessary Cl.32 data extracts.

Essential Experience:

Industry Experience: Proven experience in a project controls role on infrastructure, construction, or engineering projects. Software Proficiency: Expertise in Primavera P6, Advanced Excel skills and Data Analysis Tools like Power BI. Earned Value Management (EVM): Strong knowledge and application of EVM principles for performance measurement and tracking. Soft Skills: The ability to interpret complex data, identify trends, and provide actionable insights. Excellent communication skills (written and verbal) are necessary for effective collaboration with project managers, engineers, clients, and senior leadership. Professional Certifications: While not always mandatory, certifications like Project Management Professional (PMP) from the PMI or APM Project Management Qualification (PMQ) significantly enhance a candidate's profile.
