The Project Coordinator will deliver day-to-day project management tasks following the project management process and standard working practices in support of delivery of Digital Engineering & HVMC Programmes.



Responsibilities:

Support the Programme Manager and Project Managers with project management and support tasks. Identify opportunities for maintaining and updating performance standards. Create & update projects in ERP systems including creation of projects and planning of milestones. Measure and report on organisational & project metrics. Monitor the progress of projects and notify project managers/programme managers about project abnormalities or variances to enable critical decision making. Review and report project budget and finances. Prepare for customer and stakeholder reviews. Identify projects with difficulties and helping implement re-planning where necessary. Aid project resourcing and support the project management teams to maintain effective resourcing plans. Coordinate project meetings, including arranging agendas, hosting and approval of visitors. Assist in the day to day running of the Programme and carry out support activities as required. Managing smaller elements of the programme to successful completion.

Person Specification



Qualified to degree level in technical or business discipline. Basic understanding of what project management is as a discipline, the fundamentals of project management lifecycle, and what the role of a project professional is. Experience of analysing data and information and can demonstrate the ability to make decisions/ recommendations based on the information and data available. Ability to be self-motivated, work independently with little day-to-day supervision. A logical thinker with attention to detail, and excellent problem-solving ability Ability to work with both internal and external stakeholders to ensure requirements are delivered successfully Excellent verbal and written communication skills Organised, disciplined, methodical, hardworking and a team player Able to use the MS Word, Excel and Office applications Membership of APM and/or APM PMQ (or working towards) preferred.


The Manufacturing Technology Centre (MTC) was established in 2010 as an independent Research & Technology Organisation (RTO) with the objective of bridging the gap between academia and industry - often referred to as 'the valley of death'.


It represents one of the largest public sector investments in UK manufacturing and, after four years of planning and a 16 month build, the facility opened at Ansty Park in Coventry at the end of 2011.


In December 2011, there were 16 industrial members, 44 staff and just a few key pieces of equipment in the 'workshop'.


Over the following seven years the MTC's rapid growth has seen the expansion of our campus with the construction of three more facilities, including the opening of the Advanced Manufacturing Training Centre and the National Centre for Additive Manufacturing.


Our role has also increased to cover not only R&D but also Training, Advanced Manufacturing Management and Factory Design.


We now have over 700 talented employees working with us.


During this time we have helped hundreds of companies across a range of industries and over 100 of them have become members of the MTC.
