A vacancy has arisen for a Production Improvement Coordinator within the Finished department, working a 7 day (continental style) shift pattern.
This position will support the Shift Leader in coordinating, organising and improving all aspects of production activity and associated resource to satisfy business objectives.
Principle Accountabilities
Reporting to the Shift Leader
Assisting and supporting Shift Leader in coordinating production activity within own area of responsibility. Providing, experience and skills permitting, additional machine resource if required
Support the development and maintenance of a safe, clean and standardised working environment
Auditing production procedures, in line with company schedules, with an emphasis on Work Instruction compliance. Maintaining and updating documents appropriately
Identify improvement opportunities through resource such as of performance data, engagement with production teams, targeted studies/investigations, H&S data and both internal and external quality issues as well as using your own experience. Then using this information coordinate initiatives to increase efficiency, reduce risk, improve quality and standardise processes.
Supporting new ways of working. Identifying any compliance difficulties, engaging and assisting crews as well as using knowledge/experience in working to a resolution
Data collection and presentation where applicable
Providing training and sign off as well as coordinating with designated trainers to ensure all training and refresher training is completed in a timely manner and to the required standard
Support trials by coordinating production activity with Senior Operators and Trial Originators, ensuring appropriate feedback is provided by machine personnel for Trial Report
Administrative work such as overtime, collection and collation of paperwork such as machine and equipment checklist
Stand-in for Shift Leader when absent, excluding disciplinary matters
Provide holiday assistance and support to other departmental Shift Leader or Production Improvement Coordinator. Excluding disciplinary matters
Nature and Scope / Special Tasks
Understanding of company policies and procedures, including legislative requirements
Familiar with process related documentation and recording systems
Reviewing data, identifying opportunities as well as engaging people and supporting change
Qualifications / Skills required
Minimum 5 GCSEs (A - C / Grade 4 or above) or relevant production experience
Practical experience of leading and implementing change
Understanding of improvement techniques and processes - training will be provided where appropriate
