As a Project Co-Ordinator (Technical Support) within the High Voltage Test Centre (HVTC) team, you'll play a vital role in ensuring the safety and compliance of our high-voltage equipment and procedures. You'll coordinate and carryout the inspection, testing, and repair of safety-critical equipment used across our electrical network, supporting both internal teams and contractors across SPM and SPD regions.
Your responsibilities will include:Coordinating and carrying out HV testing of Live Line trucks, fuse rods, Potential Indicators and associated equipment on a 12-month rolling plan Providing technical support and training to HVTC staff Acting as the first point of contact for testing queries from team leaders and contractors Managing logistics including supplier quotes, courier requests, and hotel bookings Highlight any issues with new or unusual versions of standard/approved equipment used by SP to the relevant teams (e.g. Standards or Safety), and provide technical input to support procedure updates Supporting and deputising for the Team Leader when required Conducting live HV pressure testing (up to 75kV) on-site and at the HV Test Centre Deal with all repairs/issues with the test equipment used in the HVTC Maintaining accurate electronic records and managing SAP orders Assisting with inspections/testing across Energy Networks North & South (involving overnight stays) Supporting repairs of generator leads, pods, and test equipment
What you'll bring
We're looking for someone who is technically skilled, safety-focused, and confident in decision-making, particularly when resolving non-conformances identified through operational safety audits. You'll need to be adaptable, proactive, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Preferred requirements:City & Guilds Level II or equivalent electrical qualification Craft Apprenticeship or equivalent training Full valid driving licence

You'll also bring:Technical and operational experience in a relevant engineering role Strong knowledge of Energy Networks policies, procedures, and safety legislation Experience using electrical test equipment Excellent communication and problem-solving skills A commitment to delivering outstanding customer service
