Job Description


LDD, part of Acteon Group, is a marine and subsea foundation specialist. Using our extensive in-field experience, we design, engineer, build and operate world class pile-installation, lifting equipment and drilling equipment to deliver tubular foundations of any size, in any geology, anywhere.

LDD are currently looking for an Project Engineer to join the team on a full time, permanent basis based in Cornwall, UK.

Initially the successful candidate will be part of the team supporting our client on the Courseulles project, an OWF located in France, by delivering a subsea drill system designed to create large diameter holes up to 9.5m in diameter in the seabed and install casing structures for the installation of tubular monopile foundations.

You will be responsible for delivering project related engineering work to enable execution of LDD site operations relating to subsea Drilling works.

Duties/Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the safe delivery of offshore construction projects
  • Assistance with production of required project paperwork including, technical documents, management plans, method statements, risk assessments, inspection, and test plans
  • Assistance with planning and organization of mobilization, demobilization, and site works
  • Technical input into tenders as required
  • Develop and contribute to technical documentation relating to new build equipment including assembly procedures, testing routines, operating procedures, as built packages and associated reports
  • Responsibility for all staff under your direct control
  • Ensure site compliance with maintenance of QA records and assist drill crews with record keeping as required
  • Participate in the set-up, development and growth of Large Diameter Drilling Ltd to be the market leader in large diameter drilling services in the Oil and Gas Industry and other construction related industries
  • Participate, as required, in the development of the design and equipment new build or purchase as required
  • Assistance with site record keeping as required and interface with LDD office
  • Assistance with the creation and compliance with operational method statements, risk assessments and project or task specific QHSE documentation
Requirements
  • Educated to degree or HND level or equivalent
  • Ability to work under a high pressure environment
  • Experience working in a marine construction environment an advantage
  • Ability to work under your own initiative and part as a team is essential
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft office suite, MS Project (or similar) and Acad 2D package
